Claymore Paper & Packaging (PTY) LTD was established in 1999 by Scott Mackenzie. Scott worked for a local board mill and saw a market opportunity in specialized packaging substrates. This is when he established Claymore Paper & Packaging. Scott cemented good relationships with international paper mills importing only the finest quality packaging substrates available.

In August 2008 the UVP Group acquired majority share holding in Claymore Paper & Packaging. As a prominent and diversified supplier to the printing industry it is complementary products to be supplied to existing customers.

On the 1st October 2008 Dave Vermaak was appointed Managing Director of Claymore Paper and Packaging. Dave has been in the printing industry for more than 15 years and the last 8 was spent as production director at a packaging printer. With his and UVP's extensive knowledge in packaging and packaging substrates, Dave believes that market needs more variety in choice of boards. Claymore will fulfil a more technical role and offer the correct board for the correct application.

The new structure of Claymore has been very well received by the international mills together with the local market.
